Intro

Buc-ee’s is beloved for all kinds of reasons.
Clean bathrooms. Friendly service. Fun vibe.
But the most important thing?
It’s their food.
And here’s why:

Four things everyone loves about Buc-ee’s food

When you’re on a road trip, what you want is:
– Food that tastes good
– That doesn’t break the bank
– Delivered quickly
– And a wide selection
Buc-ee’s delivers across all four attributes. Honestly, I don’t really know how, but they do.
Here are their very best options under $4 (before tax) – starting with:

Kolache

Buc-ee’s kolaches (a Czech tradition) have this beautiful pillowy texture to their pastry, and the fillings are even better.
If you’re looking for savory, try the sausage kolache; for sweet, go with cheese or strawberry (or any of the other fruit-filled ones, but the strawberry is the best in my humble opinion).
And at $1.99, you can buy two and still be under $4! (Before tax.)

Gummies

Gummies are another cheap and delicious snack at Buc-ee’s – at just $1.99, you can try a few different flavors.
And there are a LOT of flavors to pick from.
So go nuts!

Banana pudding

Banana pudding in a cup (topped with whipped cream) is one of life’s few great pleasures.
And trust me – Buc-ee’s delivers on the goods on this fantastic dessert.
To stay under $4, you’ll have to get the small, but if you want to splurge, for a dollar extra you can get the large size instead.

Breakfast burrito

If you get to Buc-ee’s between 4 am and 10:30 am, you can snag a filling breakfast burrito for just $3.99.
You’ll have your choice of either bacon, egg, and cheese; or sausage, egg, and cheese (plus there are vegetarian options as well if you’re into that sort of thing).

Cinnamon roll

Buc-ee’s cinnamon roll is gigantic and just $2.99.
Otherwise, it’s just a normal cinnamon roll.
Which is a good thing!

Double scoop of ice cream

I mean, sure, you could just get a single scoop of ice cream for $2.49, but why not splurge and, for just $3.49, get the double scoop instead?
Buc-ee’s comes loaded with ice cream flavors; in addition to your traditional vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry, you’ll also get exciting flavors like Rocky Road.
Just make sure you eat it quick before it melts!

Apple fritter

Apple fritters are my favorite baked good, and for good reason:
First off, they taste delicious – apple and cinnamon are such amazing flavors.
And you also get a lot of pastry for your money – so it’s a sweet treat that doesn’t break the bank.
Of course, this is Buc-ee’s, so their apple fritters are huge, delicious, AND cheap – and really that’s about all you can ask for on a roadtrip.

Fudge

I cannot tell you how many times I’ve overpaid for good fudge.
It’s always in some tourist trap store that’s got a dozen interesting flavors, and ultimately I just can’t help myself.
Fortunately, Buc-ee’s does NOT skimp on quality – and their fudge is just $3.78 per square.
My favorite flavors:
– Tiger butter
– Peanut butter
– Rocky Road
– Maple walnut
But there are of course tons of other flavors, just look at the picture!

Beaver chips

There’s only one problem with Buc-ee’s Beaver chips, which are just $2.59 and are made fresh and hot throughout the day.
The problem is – once you have hot, fresh chips…pretty much every other chip you’ll have tastes terrible.
It ruins them for you.
But ultimately – a good problem to have!

Beaver nuggets

Beaver nuggets are perhaps Buc-ee’s most famous food, and you can snag a small bag for $3.99. (Large bags cost $4.99.)
Once you try this amazing corn-based snack, with flavors like Sea Salted Caramel, Cinnamon Sugar, and White Cheddar…you’ll see why everyone loves them so much.
Shutterstock
Frito Pie Dog (or really any specialty dog)

Buc-ee’s sells specialty hot dogs for just $3.49, and they’ve got some amazing flavors.
My favorite is the Frito Pie dog (I mean, who doesn’t love chili, fritos, and cheese on a hot dog?), but you’ve got lots of other options to choose from, including:
– Chili cheese dog (so classic)
– BBQ bacon dog
– Jalapeno cheese dog
Try them all! At just $3.49 each you can feed the whole family for almost nothing.

Summary

So there you have it – my roundup of the best Buc-ee’s foods under $4.
And again – what an incredible value for the amount of money we’re talking about here.
With that in mind, one big question for you:

Big question

What did I miss?
(Aside from the drinks, which are almost all under $4 as well. I skipped them because… Coke is Coke, you know?)
