For this DIY you will need melt and pour soap base, shea butter, sugar, essential oils, mica powder and a mold ( I used a tulip silicone mold).

Cut the melt-and-pour soap base into small cubes.
Add the soap base and shea butter to a heat-safe container.
Melt slowly using a double boiler or microwave in short intervals, stirring until smooth.
Split the sugar evenly into two bowls.
Add mica powder to each bowl and mix until fully combined.
Stir the essential oils into the melted soap and shea butter mixture.
Pour half of the melted mixture into one bowl of colored sugar. Mix quickly until combined.
Press the mixture firmly into your silicone mold.
Pour the remaining melted mixture into the second bowl of sugar. Mix and layer into the mold.
Repeat the process in batches to create additional colors and fill your mold.
Allow the bars to fully harden before removing from the mold.

About the Ingredients
Each ingredient contributes to both the function and feel of these scrub bars.
Melt & Pour Soap Base
Provides structure and helps the bars hold their shape while still being easy to use in the shower.
Shea Butter
Deeply moisturizing and nourishing, shea butter helps soften and protect the skin.
Sugar
The main exfoliant, sugar gently buffs away dry or dead skin without being too harsh.
Essential Oils
Add fragrance and can enhance the overall experience. Choose skin-safe oils that match your desired scent.
Mica Powders
Give the bars their vibrant, layered colors, making them visually appealing and perfect for gifting.
Silicone Mold
A tulip mold creates a beautiful, seasonal design that elevates these bars from simple to standout.
How to Use Sugar Scrub Bars
- Use in the shower or bath on damp skin
- Gently rub the bar onto skin to exfoliate
- Massage in circular motions
- Rinse thoroughly
These bars are great for hands, arms, legs, and areas prone to dryness.
FAQ: Tulip Sugar Scrub Bars
Why are my scrub bars crumbling?
They may not have been pressed firmly enough into the mold, or the mixture cooled too quickly. Work fast and pack tightly.
Can I use salt instead of sugar?
You can, but sugar is generally gentler and more suitable for most skin types.
Can I use fragrance oil instead of essential oils?
Yes, as long as it’s skin-safe and suitable for bath and body products.
Are these good for sensitive skin?
They can be, but reduce exfoliation or test on a small area first if you have sensitive skin.
Can I make more colors?
Absolutely. Just repeat the process in batches to create as many layered colors as you’d like.
