DIY Flaxseed Gel for Hair
For this recipe, you will need 1/4 cup of whole flaxseeds and two cups of water.

Simmer gently, stirring constantly for 8-10 minutes.
As you stir, you’ll notice that the flax water begins to thicken and gel. Once the liquid becomes sticky and looks like mucus, it’s ready!
Remove the pot from the heat and allow it to cool for 30 minutes to an hour.
Once cooled, pour the flax mixture through cheesecloth or a pair of clean pantyhose. Squeeze the gel through the strainer, leaving the flaxseeds in the cloth.
Pour the gel into a hair dispenser container or glass jar.
Storage: While you can store this hair gel at room temperature, because this is a natural product, we recommend you keep it in the refrigerator to extend the shelf life. You can add vitamin E or rosemary antioxidant to the gel to help extend the shelf life as well. This gel is good in the fridge for up to two weeks. You can freeze extra gel in an ice cube tray to use at a later date.
