Popular coffee chains throughout America like Starbucks and Dunkin’ are known for whipping up some very high-calorie crafted beverages – it’s the price you pay for their often sweet and creamy deliciousness. Krispy Kreme is no exception.
Just like its counterparts, there are some items on the Krispy Kreme menu that pack in even more calories than you might expect.
You’ll find there’s one specific culprit on the menu in terms of Krispy Kreme drinks: frozen lattes. Keep reading to discover the five highest-calorie beverages at Krispy Kreme.

The five highest-calorie drinks at Krispy Kreme
There are five coffee drinks on the current Krispy Kreme menu that stand out as the most calorie-rich items compared to every other drink available – and they all happen to be variations of the same item.
Out of six Frozen Latte items on the menu, five of them are flavored and happen to skyrocket above most of the other Krispy Kreme drinks. All of the flavored Frozen Lattes come in at well over 550 calories for a medium cup size (which is 16 ounces).
At the top of the list is the Frozen Caramel Latte with 590 calories in a medium-sized cup. Following behind is the Frozen Mocha Latte and the Frozen Caramel Mocha Latte, each 580 calories, and finally the Frozen Vanilla Latte and the Frozen Original Glazed Specialty Latte, each 570 calories.
So why are these frozen specialty drinks so high in calories? Similar to a Starbucks Frappuccino or a Dunkin’ Coolatta, frozen blended coffee drinks tend to be high-calorie beverages because they’re typically made with a high-fat dairy base like heavy cream. The Frozen Lattes at Krispy Kreme are made with a ‘latte base’, which is a blend of heavy cream, sugar, water, nonfat milk, coffee extract, natural flavors, and several other additives.
Aside from the base itself, you’ve got the flavored syrup or sauce for each beverage which contains more sugar, and in the case of the caramel flavors, more heavy cream and even some condensed milk. Then it’s all topped off with some whipped cream – which is a sugary addition that’ll always hike up that calorie count in any drink.
The best choice of all the Frozen Lattes will be the unflavored Frozen Specialty Latte, which comes in at 460 calories for a medium size. But if you stick with the iced lattes over frozen, overall calorie counts will be significantly lower.
Below are the top five highest-calorie drinks on the current Krispy Kreme menu, along with their total calorie counts in a 16-ounce cup size.
| Beverage | Calories |
| Frozen Caramel Latte | 590 |
| Frozen Mocha Latte | 580 |
| Frozen Caramel Mocha Latte | 580 |
| Frozen Vanilla Latte | 570 |
| Frozen Original Glazed Specialty Latte | 570 |
The beverage on the Krispy Kreme menu with the highest amount of calories is the Frozen Caramel Latte. This drink, made with blended espresso, heavy cream, sugar, and caramel-flavored sauce, is 480 calories for a size small, 590 calories for a size medium, and 800 calories for a size large.
There are three coffee drinks on the current Krispy Kreme menu that all tie for the lowest-calorie beverage on the menu, with zero calories each. The beverage items are a classic brewed coffee (either regular or decaf), a hot espresso, or a hot americano.
It will ultimately depend on the drink and the flavor chosen, but adding flavored syrups – vanilla, original glaze, caramel, mocha, and caramel mocha – will add anywhere from 60-150 calories for hot drinks in a medium size and anywhere from 50-250 calories for iced and frozen drinks in a medium size.
