Believe it or not, In-N-Out has over 400 locations!
Now, most of the them are in their home state of California.
But it’s still in seven other states…

Here are In-N-Out’s current states:
– California
– Texas
– Arizona
– Nevada
– Utah
– Colorado
– Oregon
– Idaho

You may have thought they were already in Washington state, but In-N-Out isn’t there yet.
It’ll be opening its first one in Ridgefield in the Union Ridge Town Center.
It should be sometime in 2025, before its East Coast expansion in 2026…

As it plots its East Coast expansion, In-N-Out’s first move is to open an office to run operations out of (think HR, tech, management).
This will be a 100,000-square-foot space located in Franklin, Tennessee.
1948 Double Double Drive, to be exact (great street name!).
Which leads us to the first actual store in the East…

In-N-Out’s first East Coast restaurant will also be in Franklin, Tennessee.
In fact, it’ll be right there alongside the office.
We hear employees will get free food (a wonderful perk!).
But In-N-Out’s not stopping there…

As you may have guessed with a massive office complex, In-N-Out has big plans.
If you’re not familiar with Franklin, it’s about 20 miles south of Nashville.
And in the Nashville area, In-N-Out is planning 15 restaurants.
But they’re not not done there…

In-N-Out is planning as many as 35 locations throughout Tennessee.
So the 15 around Nashville and about 20 elsewhere.
That would make Tennessee the #4 In-N-Out state behind California, Texas, and Arizona!
But they’re not likely done there…

In-N-Out’s Franklin location (and likely the other Tennessee locations) will get their fresh patties from the Lancaster, Texas patty production facility near Dallas.
It’s about 700 miles to drive from Lancaster to Franklin.
If they continue to do that (vs. building a new patty production facility in Tennessee), the nearby states around that route are:
– Oklahoma
– Arkansas
– Louisiana
– Mississippi
– Alabama
Those would all make sense for In-N-Out’s continued expansion…

In-N-Out will be in 10 states once it opens its first locations in Washington state (2025) and Tennessee (2026).
We’ve suggested some other states that could follow suit (Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama).
But even added all of those would still leave the majority of states without an In-N-Out.
