Keurig recently shut down its factory in Windsor, Virginia – and liquidated 379 jobs.
That’s tough all on its own – Windsor’s a small town, and the loss of a major employer is a big impact – but unfortunately it could be just the beginning.

Keurig is part of a conglomerate that also sells Dr Pepper and Snapple – and operates a whopping 30 manufacturing facilities.
And its major competitors (like Coca-Cola) have been shutting down lots of manufacturing capacity with the goal of slimming down and boosting efficiency.
Dr Pepper Keurig seems to be pushing more and more capacity toward its new manufacturing facility in Spartanburg, SC. Whether they continue to close other legacy plants like their competitors in the meantime remains to be seen.
