The economic downturn is seemingly coming for everyone.
Even beloved household names like Chick-fil-A are starting to pull back.
But few restaurants are suffering as much as Jack in the Box, the McDonald’s competitor with over 2,000 stores nationwide.

Management has made the tough decision to close at least 80 stores by the end of 2025, expanding to as many as 200, or about 9% of their overall store count.
We still don’t have a clear view of which specific Jack in the Boxes will be closing – but given how widespread the losses will be, many restaurants that have been pillars of their communities for decades are expected to be impacted.
It’s rough out there. Restaurants are facing the tough combo of rising food prices, labor shortages, and falling consumer spending as economic pessimism sets in.
If your local Jack closes, where will you be eating? Let us know in the comments!
