More rough news out of Minnesota – the hits just keep coming.
https://thecoconutmama.com/minnesota-loses-2-factories-with-hundreds-of-layoffs-confirmed/After watching several factories close earlier this summer at a cost of far too many jobs…
They’re losing another one – Apple Valley Foods recently shut down its pie making factory in Chaska, Minnesota.

That’s 95 jobs gone – likely forever – as the food industry continues reeling from challenges coming from seemingly every direction.
You’ve got tariffs and the trade war – which are particularly of concern for states like Minnesota who share a border with Canada, which is doing everything it can to punish American businesses.
And also higher input costs…tangled supply and logistics chains…and the fact that American consumers are concerned about a potential recession and therefore pulling back their spending.
It’s a tough combination for sure, and my heart goes out to the impacted workers.
Honestly, what is going on with all these factory closures? If you have any theories, please share in the comments!
