Salad and Go’s rapid rise once made it one of the country’s fastest-growing fast-casual concepts, expanding from a single Arizona location into dozens of drive-thru restaurants across the Southwest. Now, the company has reached the end of the road.
The Arizona-founded chain has permanently closed all of its remaining restaurants, officially ending its presence in Nevada and leaving the state without a single Salad and Go location after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Nevada loses every remaining Salad and Go
Salad and Go announced that all of its remaining restaurants in Arizona and Nevada would permanently close following final service on August 5. The move marks the company’s complete exit from Nevada after previously withdrawing from Texas and Oklahoma earlier this year as part of a restructuring effort.
Known for its small-footprint drive-thru restaurants serving salads, wraps, breakfast burritos, soups, and fresh beverages, Salad and Go had built a loyal following by offering healthier meals at fast-food prices. The company was founded in Gilbert, Arizona, in 2013 and expanded rapidly during the past decade, eventually operating more than 70 locations across Arizona and Nevada.
Rising costs and slowing demand proved too much
In its bankruptcy announcement, Salad and Go cited sustained declines in consumer demand, rising operating costs, and strategic growth challenges. The company also said the recent nationwide Cyclospora outbreak, although not linked to Salad and Go, hurt consumer confidence in salad-focused restaurants and contributed to weaker sales.
The closures came as a shock to many customers, with long lines forming at some locations as loyal fans stopped in one final time before the restaurants closed for good. Employees and customers expressed disappointment over the sudden announcement, bringing an abrupt end to a brand that had once been viewed as a rising star in the fast-casual restaurant industry.
