#10: Granny Smith Apples

Percent of Americans who have heard of it: 97%
Percent of Americans who like it: 77%
My take: Granny Smith apples are kind of the underdog of the apple world — definitely not as crowd-pleasing as a Honeycrisp, which is my apple of choice. But they do have their place: great in a pie, crisps, or sliced with peanut butter. Honestly, I’m surprised they made the list over Red Delicious apples. Bold choice, America.

#9: Clementines

Percent of Americans who have heard of it: 95%
Percent of Americans who like it: 78%
My take: Peelable, portable, and basically made for lunchboxes. Clementines are what I grab when I want a little burst of citrus without the mess of an orange. Kids love them. Adults love them. What’s not to like?

#8: Tangerines

Percent of Americans who have heard of it: 99%
Percent of Americans who like it: 80%
My take: YES — a fresh tangerine is so, so good. Juicy, tangy, and just the right size. Honestly, Americans love their mini citrus fruits, and I totally see why. I reach for these every time they’re in season.

#7: Blueberries

Percent of Americans who have heard of it: 98%
Percent of Americans who like it: 81%
My take: In my personal ranking, these would have been way higher. Blueberries are one of the healthiest fruits, they’re great for snacking, and they go with everything — pancakes, yogurt, smoothies. I always try to keep fresh ones around.

#6: Pineapples

Percent of Americans who have heard of it: 98%
Percent of Americans who like it: 82%
My take: One of my personal favorites. I actually think cutting a pineapple is kind of fun — and totally worth it. It’s sweet, tropical, and add so much color and flavor to any fruit platter. I even like it on pizza (yep, I said it). A fridge with prepped pineapple is a happy fridge, if you ask me.

#5: Green Grapes

Percent of Americans who have heard of it: 98%
Percent of Americans who like it: 83%
My take: I ate a ton of green grapes as a kid — now, they mostly show up when I’m assembling a charcuterie board. Still, I understand why people love them: refreshing, sweet, and super low-effort to eat.

#4: Red Grapes

Percent of Americans who have heard of it: 98%
Percent of Americans who like it: 83%
My take: Tied with green grapes in popularity, red grapes are a little sweeter — without that sour bite green ones sometimes have. And I totally get why people love them: they’re ridiculously easy to snack on. No cutting, no peeling — just rinse and go.

#3: Bananas

Percent of Americans who have heard of it: 99%
Percent of Americans who like it: 84%
My take: I’m starting to wonder about the 1% of people who say they’ve never heard of bananas… But in all seriousness, I know the taste (or texture) isn’t for everyone. Personally, I love them — they’re sweet, easy, and the base of almost every smoothie I make. And when they go brown? It’s banana bread time.

#2: Watermelon

Percent of Americans who have heard of it: 98%
Percent of Americans who like it: 85%
My take: Watermelon is one of those fruits I could eat for days and never get tired of. It’s basically summer in every bite — juicy, refreshing, and best when it’s ice cold. Honestly, it’s one of my absolute favorites, and I wouldn’t have been surprised if it took the #1 spot.

#1: Strawberries

Percent of Americans who have heard of it: 99%
Percent of Americans who like it: 88%
My take: Ariana Grande’s favorite fruit takes the top spot — and honestly, it makes perfect sense. I don’t think I’ve ever met someone who doesn’t like strawberries. In July, when you get a super sweet, perfectly ripe strawberry? Nothing else compares. And they’re good in just about everything — salads, shortcakes, you name it.
