Intro

Just about every item on In-N-Out’s simple-but-effective menu is so good!
I guess that’s what happens when you focus on quality vs. variety (I’m looking at you, Sonic and maybe you too, Jack in the Box).
But one item stands out as the best…

It’s not the fries

The In-N-Out french fries are good, especially if you prefer the skinny-style fries.
Still, many other places have better fries.
Even if you think the fries are the best fries out there (the Animal-style fries are fierce!), there’s a better item…

It’s not the shakes

The shakes are simply classic!
Chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry.
We can debate on which is the best among the three (or if you prefer a Black & White or a Neapolitan), but there’s still a better item…

It’s not anything on the Secret Menu

I mean, do we even call it the Secret Menu anymore when even the official menu has the “Not so Secret Menu”?
At this point, anything on the “Not So Secret Menu” is just a regular menu item.
But it’s not anything that’s truly off menu, like the Flying Dutchman (two patties with two slices of cheese acting as the “bun”), the Tomato Wrap (uses tomatoes for the bun vs. the lettuce in the Protein Style) or the sad Veggie Burger (no alternative patty here…just the lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and Thousand Island spread).

It’s not the Signature Pink Lemonade

The lemonade looks great and tastes great.
But it’s just lemonade colored pink for effect.
Bonus points for having the Lite version these days, flavored with Stevia and monkfruit.
And, yeah, the Lemon Up is great (mixing the Pink Lemonade with 7-Up).
But no way any drink is the best item on the menu…

The Double-Double

It HAS to be a burger, right?
And the Double-Double has the best ratio of bun to burger to cheese.
The 3×3 and 4×4 are more “stunt” orders to show off to your friends or your heart surgeon.
If you don’t like the cheese, feel free to just get the Double Meat.
And, yes, Animal Style or Mustard Grilled are fine alterations. I’ll let you figure out the whole topping situation for yourself!
I’m right, aren’t I? But feel free to sound off in the comments if you think you have a case for something better than a Double-Double at In-N-Out!
