Intro

In-N-Out fries (and the burgers) have some serious fans!
But so do other fast food restaurants.
We’re making the case for seven other fries against In-N-Out’s thin, crispy, delicious fries.
To be fair, we’ll give the pros and cons for each…let’s go!

Arby’s

The case for: Curly fries! Seasoned with deliciousness like paprika and battered!
The case against: You either love curly fries or love the “normal” fry experience.

Shake Shack

The case for: Crinkle-cut fries…like a hot, fresh Ore-Ida!
The case against: Even Shake Shack’s own people admit that you need to eat them immediately before they cool into blah. So delivery is a bad option!

Wendy’s

The case for: Wendy’s fries feature skin-on edges and have a big fan following!
The case against: So many of those Wendy’s fries fans insist on dipping them in a Frosty. So is it the fries or the Frosty that they really love?

Chick-fil-A

The case for: Like Arby’s, this is strong alternative form factor: waffle fries!
The case against: Like how different-shaped pasta somehow tastes different, if a true fry is what you’re after, the waffle fries don’t cut it.

Popeye’s

The case for: Bored of bland fries? Popeye’s has you covered with that kick of Cajun seasoning!
The case against: It’s a cool change of pace and pairs well with Popeye’s fried chicken, but it’s not an “everyday” fry.

Five Guys

The case for: Perfectly-sized, fresh-cut potatoes fried in peanut oil. Step aside, Popeye’s, there’s a Cajun option here, too!
The case against: The Five Guys fries critics will say the potatoes get soggy (I personally still think they’re great when they sog b/c it’s like a baked potato). And peanut oil haters obviously need to move along to another choice.

McDonald’s

The case for: Maybe the most famous, beloved fry in the world!
The case against: In the U.S., the fries aren’t vegan.

In-N-Out

The case for: Thin and crispy in their original form, but taken up a notch if you go Animal Style (melted cheese, grilled onions, secret spread)
The case against: Many of us are like Sir Mix-a-Lot…we like ’em real thick.
So there you go…the case for In-N-Out as well as seven fries that may be better.
