Intro

Turns out, we all just want lightly flavored, boozy bubble water.
Hard seltzers are basically that — sparkling water spiked with alcohol and a splash of fruit flavor. Kind of like boozy LaCroix.
That’s why they’ve blown up in popularity: they feel lighter than beer, fresher than a cocktail, and come in fun flavors like mango, black cherry, or passionfruit.
Hard seltzers are everywhere — but which ones do people actually like the most?
Well, the results are in…

Intro (continued…)

These rankings are based on YouGov’s Q1 2025 consumer polling, which tracks both fame (how many Americans have heard of a product) and popularity (how many people who’ve heard of it actually like it).
The list includes brands in general and specific flavors that people like the most.
So, let’s count them down from #10:

$10: Arctic Chill Ruby Red Grapefruit

Percent of Americans who have heard of it: 47%
Percent of Americans who like it: 29%
My take: This one’s a bit under-the-radar, but I think it deserves more love. It’s got more of a crisp, craft feel compared to the big names, and the grapefruit flavor is actually grapefruit, not that weird artificial taste. If you’re into grapefruit LaCroix, you’ll probably like this one.

#9: Blue Moon Light Sky

Percent of Americans who have heard of it: 61%
Percent of Americans who like it: 29%
My take: Kind of a crossover between beer and seltzer, this one’s for people who want something lighter but aren’t fully sold on the fruity fizzy drinks. It’s got a citrusy edge that pairs surprisingly well with food — especially anything spicy. I’m not really a beer person, so it’s not my favorite, but I can see a lot of people wanting something citrusy with a little malty backbone.

#8: Topo Chico Hard Seltzer

Percent of Americans who have heard of it: 58%
Percent of Americans who like it: 29%
My take: I was expecting Topo Chico to rank higher — the sparkling water bubbles are next-level, and the hard seltzer version holds up surprisingly well. It’s crisp, not too sweet, and tastes more “real” than a lot of the competition.

#7: White Claw Iced Tea Mango

Percent of Americans who have heard of it: 74%
Percent of Americans who like it: 31%
My take: This one surprised me in the best way. I expected it to be weird, but the mango and iced tea combo actually works — kind of like a spiked Arizona Iced Tea, but way more fun. And apparently, I’m not the only one who thinks so — it’s the most popular White Claw flavor in the country.

#6: White Claw Hard Seltzer

Percent of Americans who have heard of it: 77%
Percent of Americans who like it: 31%
My take: A lot of people have heard of White Claw — it’s basically the brand that kicked off the hard seltzer craze. But only 31% of those who’ve tried it say they actually like it. I think that’s because, while it was one of the first of its kind, there are just better options out there now. It’s still a go-to for some, but the competition has definitely caught up.

#5: Truly Hard Seltzer (Original)

Percent of Americans who have heard of it: 69%
Percent of Americans who like it: 31%
My take: Truly leans more fruity than boozy — which is exactly what a lot of people are looking for. While many seltzers lack flavor, this one’s actually pretty good. Sure, some flavors are a miss, but it’s hard to deny how drinkable they are.

#4: Smirnoff Spiked Sparkling Seltzer

Percent of Americans who have heard of it: 69%
Percent of Americans who like it: 33%
My take: I want to like these because they always look cute in the fridge, but I just can’t. Maybe it’s the vodka association — I’ve had one too many bad memories — but the taste doesn’t live up to the packaging for me. Pretty, but pass.

#3: Truly Passion Fruit

Percent of Americans who have heard of it: 60%
Percent of Americans who like it: 34%
My take: I’m a sucker for anything passionfruit, so naturally I love the taste. It’s just the right amount of tangy and sweet, and it actually tastes like fruit — not fake flavoring. Honestly, I’d rank this one even higher.

#2: Bud Light Seltzer

Percent of Americans who have heard of it: 88%
Percent of Americans who like it: 36%
My take: I know a lot of people are into these — and I get it. Bud Light Seltzer has a ton of flavors and is made with fermented cane sugar (0% beer!), which makes it lighter and more approachable for a lot of people. Plus, you can pretty much find them everywhere.

#1: Mike’s Hard Lemonade Seltzer Pineapple

Percent of Americans who have heard of it: 76%
Percent of Americans who like it: 40%
My take: I know — I didn’t expect this either. But Mike’s pineapple seltzer totally delivers. It’s juicy, sweet, and nostalgic in the best way. More like a grown-up juice box than a seltzer, and honestly? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want. No notes.
