Georgia’s next Buc-ee’s is officially under construction, and the company has given travelers a clear target for its arrival. The new store will strengthen Buc-ee’s presence along Interstate 75, one of the corridors featured in this guide to every interstate highway with a Buc-ee’s.
The travel center is being built at 1080 Rumble Road in Monroe County, near Forsyth and approximately one hour south of Atlanta.
Buc-ee’s held a groundbreaking ceremony on April 7, 2026. Unlike many proposed locations that remain tied up in permitting or infrastructure negotiations, the Monroe County project has moved into the construction phase.
The current target is March 2027.
Plans call for a 74,000-square-foot store with 100 fueling positions. The location is also expected to create more than 200 full-time jobs.
Customers can expect the familiar Buc-ee’s assortment: Texas-style barbecue, freshly made fudge, jerky, Beaver Nuggets, bakery items, drinks, gifts and the famously large restrooms that helped build the chain’s following.
Why Buc-ee’s chose Monroe County
The site places Buc-ee’s directly beside I-75, one of Georgia’s busiest north-south routes. It should attract travelers moving between Atlanta, Macon and the Florida border, along with visitors headed toward Georgia’s coast through connecting highways.
The new location will also fill part of the considerable distance between Buc-ee’s existing stores in Warner Robins and Calhoun.
Monroe County officials previously approved road improvements connected to the project. Buc-ee’s is expected to contribute roughly $10 million toward transportation work, including traffic signals and roundabouts needed to handle the additional vehicles.
When it opens, the Forsyth-area store will become Georgia’s fourth Buc-ee’s.

- Warner Robins
- Calhoun
- Brunswick
Brunswick became the newest of those stores when it opened in 2025 along Interstate 95. The Monroe County opening will shift the expansion focus back to I-75.
Construction schedules can change because of weather, inspections or roadwork, so March 2027 is still best viewed as the company’s target rather than an unchangeable grand-opening date.
Still, Georgia’s project is further along than many other future Buc-ee’s locations. The land is secured, state and county approvals are in place, the ceremonial groundbreaking has occurred and construction has begun.
For Georgia travelers, the latest update is encouraging: the next Buc-ee’s is being built near Forsyth and remains targeted to open in March 2027.
