The fudge bars are officially discontinued

Trader Joe’s confirmed it: the Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert Chocolate Fudge Oat Bars are no longer available.
They were creamy. Made with an oat base. Just 100 calories. $3.49 for a box of four.
And arguably one of the best vegan treats Trader Joe’s ever made.

They tasted like childhood

Smooth, rich, and fudgy – without any dairy.
Even Trader Joe’s product description said they were “like the fudgy ice creams we remember from childhood.” And they were.

Fans are crushed

One shopper on Facebook wrote:
“I found out today that they discontinued them due to slow sales. They were one of our favorite summer treats.”
Another chimed in:
“My new mantra: don’t fall in love at Trader Joe’s. You’ll get your heart broken.”
It really is heartbreaking.

The rumors were true

For weeks, fans were whispering online: “Are the bars gone?”
Now it’s confirmed. Trader Joe’s pulled them from shelves nationwide due to low sales, even though social media posts made it seem like they had a cult following.

Some people never even got to try them

That might be the worst part.
Several fans online said they’d been hunting the bars for weeks, only to learn they’d already disappeared.
“I missed my window completely,” one shopper wrote.
Brutal.

Alternatives

If you loved Trader Joe’s fudge oat bars, nothing will hit quite the same…
But here’s what might take the edge off.
Closest dupes (outside of TJ’s):
– So Delicious Fudge Bars (one of our favorite dairy-free ice cream brands).
– Daiya Chocolate Fudge Bars (soy-based but rich and creamy)
If you’re hunting for a frozen treat at Trader Joe’s, try:
– Brownie Coffee Ice Cream Sandwiches (not vegan, but ridiculously good)
– Tangerine Cream Bars
– Ube Ice Cream
– Speculoos Cookie Butter Ice Cream

Also gone: The chicken sausage breakfast bowl

It’s not just fudge bars that are gone…
Trader Joe’s also discontinued its Chicken Sausage Breakfast Bowl, a freezer-aisle hit packed with scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, and cheddar cheese.
Shoppers raved about the protein and value. Now? It’s vanished.

People are mourning this one hard

A shopper in a Trader Joe’s Facebook group, summed it up best:
“Wah! They’ve discontinued the chicken sausage breakfast bowl!”
He added:
“It was my favorite breakfast to fill me up.”
And to make it worse? TJ’s also stopped selling the tubed chicken sausage, so making your own bowl isn’t even an option anymore.

And we’re still not over this one

Let’s rewind to 2020, when Trader Joe’s discontinued one of the most perfect desserts they ever made:
The Speculoos Cookie Butter Cheesecake.
Graham crust. Creamy cheesecake. Swirled with their cult-favorite cookie butter. It disappeared quietly… and never came back.

Other recent losses

Here’s a quick roundup of other beloved products TJ’s have discontinued over the past year:
– Chili & Lime Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips
– Broccoli & Kale Pizza Crust
– Arrabiata Sauce
– Almond Butter Puffs Cereal
– Cauliflower Gnocchi (vanished from some stores)
Trader Joe’s really is out here breaking hearts aisle by aisle.

Why does Trader Joe’s keep doing this?

Here’s the deal: Trader Joe’s has limited shelf space in every store.
If a product isn’t selling fast across the country (not just in your neighborhood) it gets pulled to make room for something new.
Even if it’s well-loved. Even if it has a cult following online.

What’s showing up instead

Here’s what Trader Joe’s is adding instead:
– Ube Mochi Pancake & Waffle Mix
– Brown Sugar Boba Ice Cream Bars
– Spicy Mango Lemonade
These all sound good, but they won’t replace the Dairy Free Fudge Bars we lost…

Lesson learned: Don’t fall in love

If you shop at Trader Joe’s long enough, you learn the hard way: Don’t fall in love.
Because when you do? It’ll probably get discontinued just as you’re telling your friends how good it is.
And then you’re just the sad person standing in front of an empty freezer…

Summary

If you’ve felt personally victimized by Trader Joe’s lately… same.
No more fudge bars, chicken sausage breakfast bowls, or cookie butter cheesecake.
