As if the news weren’t bad enough already for farms. (Especially farms in Michigan.)
Between the ICE raids causing labor shortages…
And the tariff-induced market wreckage…
American farmers really need a break.

Instead, more bad news: The USDA is eliminating the Regional Food Business Centers program, which has committed $130 million to support farms throughout the USA.
While the money will still be disbursed, there will be no more after that…and, possibly worse, the government will be folding up the 12 centers that provided the support around the country, starting with four closing immediately.
Perhaps most heartbreakingly, one of those four centers is housed at Michigan State University in Lansing.
All of this is happening as farm bankruptcies are soaring this year. Lots of farmers are throwing in the towel, and you can see why.
If you have any words of encouragement or support to share for our hardworking farmers, please leave a comment.
