KFC has had a rough go of it lately.
After being dethroned by Chick-fil-A as America’s #1 fried chicken chain…
And under threat by several more upstarts – from Raising Cane’s to Zaxby’s (and plenty more) – KFC has been pushed to close some locations as it struggles to compete.
The losses have impacted two Louisiana towns – Lafayette lost both of its KFCs, and New Iberia lost its last one too, all in July.
Louisiana is, of course, Raising Cane’s territory – and with the chain aggressively expanding nationwide, there’s good reason to think KFC will be forced to retreat from more markets before all is said and done.
