When the health inspector comes, every restaurant knows to be on their best behavior.
But for Boonville, Indiana’s McDonald’s on West Locust Street, it was nowhere near good enough.

In fact, things were so bad that it was shut down by the Warrick County food inspector in mid-August.
Fortunately, the closure only lasted a short time (less than a week) because they were able to quickly fix the problems, but it’s a good reminder about how important food safety is.
The big issue: Bug infestations. (Although the inspector cited other health concerns too.)
After hiring an exterminator and clearing out the bugs, the McDonald’s was back open for business later that same week.
