The countdown to Middle Tennessee’s first Buc-ee’s just got much more specific. An earlier update on the Murfreesboro Buc-ee’s treated November 16 as a tentative target, but a company media manager has now confirmed that date for the store’s opening.
The travel center is scheduled to open at 6 a.m. on Monday, November 16, 2026, at the Interstate 24 and Joe B. Jackson Parkway interchange. Customers will be allowed to begin lining up at midnight, according to local reporting that says Buc-ee’s media manager Crissy Gonzales confirmed both times.

A tentative date has become a real opening plan
That confirmation is the key change. For months, Murfreesboro officials and Buc-ee’s representatives had said the store would open before the end of 2026, while November 16 circulated as a likely target without being treated as final.
Now, Murfreesboro.com reports that the company has confirmed the November 16 opening at 6 a.m. A ribbon-cutting is also planned for opening morning, although its exact time had not yet been announced.
With the opening landing just before Thanksgiving travel week, the timing could make the first days especially busy for local drivers and curious road-trippers.
The store is being built on roughly 47 acres and is expected to measure about 74,000 square feet. Plans include around 120 fueling positions, nearly 490 parking spaces for cars and additional spaces for buses and recreational vehicles.
One feature shoppers should not expect is a car wash. The Murfreesboro project is designed as a full Buc-ee’s travel center, but current plans do not include one.
Hiring and final preparations are already underway
Buc-ee’s has been recruiting for the store, including cashier, food-service and management positions. Company job listings have described Murfreesboro as opening in fall 2026, which lines up with the newly confirmed November date.
The project also required substantial road and interchange improvements around Joe B. Jackson Parkway. Local officials have said Buc-ee’s funded major infrastructure work connected to the development.
Murfreesboro will expand Buc-ee’s reach into Middle Tennessee. The chain already has a growing Tennessee footprint, and the new store will add another major interstate stop along I-24.
The opening will also give drivers on the Nashville-to-Chattanooga corridor a Buc-ee’s stop without having to detour toward the chain’s existing East Tennessee locations. That makes Murfreesboro strategically different from a tourist-heavy Smoky Mountains store: it is positioned directly on one of Middle Tennessee’s busiest interstate routes.
Retail opening dates can still move if construction or inspections create last-minute problems. But November 16 is no longer just a rumor or city estimate. It is the clearest company-confirmed opening plan Murfreesboro has had yet.
