Texas just can’t seem to catch a break.
Fresh off the news that a string of beloved grocery stores are closing…
(And don’t forget the breweries going under…)
Now the problems have spread to the restaurant sector – with three restaurants declaring bankruptcy in a surprisingly short time frame.

This is, of course, all happening against the backdrop of broader malaise across retail and especially restaurants. Spiking food costs, tariffs, increased labor expense, and the broader consumer pullback are all playing a part.
So it’s not all that surprising to see bankruptcies spiking.
Bravo Brio, which operates the Brio Italian Grille concept, declared bankruptcy earlier this month – impacting two restaurants in Texas, one in Allen and the other in Southlake.
Meanwhile, Burnt BBQ & Tacos out of Plano declared bankruptcy in late July.
Of course, this is just the tip of the iceberg as there are undoubtedly plenty more stores that are just barely hanging on.
