The Magic of Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar has been used for thousands of years for a myriad of uses. It can be consumed for health benefits, put into cooking or baking, and even used for cleaning around the house! When consumed, studies have shown that apple cider vinegar promotes good gut health with its natural probiotics, minerals, and vitamins. It can also support weight loss, stabilize blood sugar, and boost your immune system.
This Apple Cider Vinegar & Ginger drink is so refreshing when poured over ice, but can also be brewed with hot water and enjoyed as a tea. Ginger has its own long list of health benefits, such as helping calm nausea, stimulate digestion, and support healthy teeth and gums. It also has detoxifying abilities for the colon! When combined with apple cider vinegar, these two powerhouse ingredients become a sensational health beverage!
When purchasing apple cider vinegar, search for organic or unfiltered brands. Those with the ‘mother’ inside will have the biggest amount of nutrients and thus, health benefits. Fresh, organic ginger is best in this recipe, as well. Powdered ginger would give the drink taste, but not many further advantages.
Ingredients for Apple Cider Vinegar & Ginger Drink
Water – This recipe is written to make a drink to pour over ice, but feel free to use hot water instead and create a delicious Apple Cider Vinegar & Ginger tea!
Apple Cider Vinegar – Apple cider vinegar gives this drink a distinct tang. Remember to use organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar and always dilute it before consuming.
Ginger, freshly grated – Use a zester or microplane tool to achieve the smallest bits of ginger. If you’d prefer no pieces of ginger when you drink, then let the concoction sit for at least 30 minutes to infuse with ginger flavor, then strain & enjoy!

Maple Syrup or Honey – A sweetener is needed to balance out the sharp flavors of vinegar and ginger. Start with 1-2 teaspoons, then add more if desired.
Lemon – Fresh lemon juice brightens the flavor of this drink and adds an energizing zing.

DO NOT take this drink on an empty stomach. Ginger wreaks havoc on one. ACV alone is ok.C’mon Jen you should know this!
Thank you,
I love your e-mails. This drink will be very helpful. I was taking a tablespoon of ACV, but too difficult/acidic to keep,up I will definitely enjoy drinking this combination.
Thank you, Elaine! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the emails. Totally get what you mean about ACV being tough on its own—this combo should make it much easier (and tastier!) to keep up. 😊
