Lavender syrup is one of the easiest ways to get this done, as the sweet, calming, and soothing flavor is perfectly encased in the texture of syrup – plus, it’s super convenient and fun to use!
That said, there are a lot of lavender syrups to choose from, so we’ve tested many of them and ranked our findings! That way you don’t have to go on a mission to find one that’s good, and can pick the one that sounds the best in our list here!

Without further ado, let’s check out the best lavender syrup you can buy!
What is lavender syrup?
Lavender syrup is a syrup that contains the aromatic, floral, delicious, calming, herbal, and sweet flavor of lavender! It’s perfect for adding the delicious flavors to your beverages, cakes, and desserts!
It’s made by combining lavender flowers with water and sugar, boiling them to create a lavender-infused syrup!
How to use lavender syrup for flavoring
Lavender syrup is a perfect addition to your teas, lemonades, cocktails, coffee, and soda water! Basically, anything you want to add a floral twist to is fair game!
It definitely excels in beverages, as the aromatic sweetness can make some delicious lavender martinis, seltzers, ice tea, and lemonades to give them a subtle yet delicious twist! That said, lavender syrup can also be added into bakes and desserts, either as a topping or as an ingredient.
For most standard drinks, start with about ½ to 2 tablespoons of the syrup. This will give the beverage the lavender flavor, but some recipes may call for more or less – experimenting with it is going to give you a good idea of how much you like!
Baking is a bit trickier, and you should follow the recipe. This can range anywhere from ¼ of a cup to 2 cups of lavender syrup, but make sure to follow what it calls for to get the best results!
Top recipes for lavender syrup
Lavender syrup is great in things like:
- Starbucks milk tea: Lavender syrup’s sweet, aromatic, and floral flavor isn’t overpowering at all (given that you don’t use up a whole bottle at once), and this milk tea is a great place to add a little herbal deliciousness! Try starting with about 1 tablespoon of lavender syrup.
- Almond flour pancakes: This is a bit of a unique one, but you can switch out your maple syrup and pour some lavender syrup over top of these delicious, moist, and nutty pancakes for a unique flavor twist!
- Coconut cocktails: If you want a bit of a unique type of cocktail that you can use your lavender syrup in, try mixing it into these coconut ones. It’ll add a floral flavor that pairs well with the tropical coconut taste, and could lead to some unique concoctions!
How to choose the best lavender syrup
There are a lot of different lavender syrups that check different boxes, so we’ve done a lot of research when testing these and also created this list of criteria that helped us find the best ones:
- Ingredients: We don’t see the need for artificial ingredients – we like to keep it simple and choose the highest-quality ingredients that provide the best flavors, which are natural!
- Consumer feedback: In addition to my own taste tests, I think it’s valuable to listen to others that have used a product is key in getting a bigger picture on something. After all, you wouldn’t use a product that everyone says is terrible, right?
- Track record: A brand needs to be transparent, good to their customers, and aim to make the best products with the best ingredients!
- Price: We’ve got really budget-friendly lavender syrups and pricier options – there’s something here for everyone!

At number 8 we have Amoretti lavender syrup.
Amoretti makes a ton of flavoring syrups, and they’re generally all solid. Their lavender syrup does a good job of providing a great lavender taste to anything you want, and it comes with a free pump – that makes it way easier to add the syrup to many things!
It’s also non-GMO, gluten-free, and preservative-free, which is something that we like to see!
Give this one a go!

Sonoma Syrup Co lavender syrup is a solid choice that’ll bring the delicious lavender flavor right to your table!

#10 Honorable Mention: Syruvia
Rounding out our top 10 is Syruvia!
Their lavender syrup is wonderful, providing a great flavor – and the bottle comes with a pump! It’s also made in the USA, and shows a fine attention to detail on top of being kosher-certified.
Plus, it’s only $0.51 per fluid ounce!
Ingredients: Pure cane sugar, water, natural flavor, citric acid, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate (to preserve freshness), xanthan gum, potassium citrate, fruit and vegetable juice (for color).
#11 Honorable Mention: HipStirs
Despite having one of my favorite names on this list, HipStirs lavender syrup is less-known than most other brands on this list!
Regardless, they offer a simple product that’s made with simple ingredients – without any artificial stuff in it! It tastes really good, and you can tell that HipStirs put a lot of care into making this one!
However, the main reason it’s not ranked higher is because it’s the most expensive option on this list at $1.87 per fluid ounce, and that’s a hard pill to swallow when there are great cheaper options available.
That said, we don’t think you’d regret shelling out a little extra cash for this one!
Ingredients: Sugar, Natural Color, Water, Lavender Flavor.
#12 Best Sugar-Free: Matteo’s
Last but not least, Matteo’s takes the crown for the best sugar-free lavender syrup!
This one has the lowest rating on this list, and uses artificial flavors – which we’re not fans of. However, it needs artificial flavors since it’s sugar-free…
Syrups use sugar as one of their main ingredients, so this is a bit more of an artificial syrup than the others. That said, it’s a great option if you want the closest thing to a lavender syrup without the sugar!
Ingredients: Water, Citric Acid, Natural And Artificial Flavours, Cellulose Gum, Sodium Citrate, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Sucralose, Acesulfame-Potassium.
Others we reviewed
Now, all those are solid options, and we’re sure you’ll find one in there that gets the job done for you! However, there are several lavender extracts we tested that didn’t make the cut…
Those lavender extracts are from Torani, 1883, and Kate Naturals. Unfortunately, these 3 decided to add artificial flavoring, artificial colors, or both in their products, which is something we don’t support at Coconut Mama – the real deal is so much better in terms of flavor, quality, and health-wise.
And that’s not to say that these don’t taste good – Torani lavender extract, for example, has a great flavor and is super popular, but we prioritize natural ingredients over artificial ones, simple as that.
So check out the great options in our rankings and enjoy your lavender syrup!
