California just can’t seem to catch a break.
Fresh off the collapse of its sugar beet industry…
And after a string of heartbreaking factory closures…
Now the state is poised to suffer yet another disappointment as the Bay State Milling plant in Woodland will close its doors at the end of October.

This is a fairly small facility (35 employees affected) that processes mostly niche ingredients like cinnamon, chickpea and rice flour, and oats, but the local impacts are still substantial.
Plus, it’s just one more piece of bad news that the local economy just did not need.
As the impacted workers prepare for their next chapter – do you have any advice or words of encouragement to share with them? Drop a comment and let us know!
