Intro

Cracker Barrel recently rolled out their 2024 holiday menu, and it’s packed full of interesting dishes.
Many are old favorites.
But there’s some new stuff too – and one in particular caught my eye as…really weird!
(Good – just weird.)
Let’s start with what’s returning to the menu:

Country-fried turkey

Cracker Barrel’s country-fried turkey is a longtime fan favorite, and obviously incredibly seasonally appropriate as we’re in the Thanksgiving season.
Their country-fried turkey comes with cranberry relish (naturally), two sides, and either Cracker Barrel’s corn muffins or biscuits.

Broccoli cheese casserole

Do you like broccoli and cheese together?
No?
Well, I think you’ll be surprised at how good their casserole is.
The crushed crackers on top really make it.
Next up, my favorite new menu item (it’s not the weird one):

DIY hot chocolate bar

Ok – this isn’t the weird new menu item, but I just had to take a moment to talk about their DIY hot chocolate bar.
They top their hot chocolate with chocolate sauce and whipped cream – and it’s served with chocolate morsels, sprinkles, and a peppermint candy stick.
You get to decide how you want to top it!
But the big, weird, crazy one is:

Sparkling Plum Mimosa

Cracker Barrel’s new sparkling plum mimosa is…a lot.
It’s a sparkling wine mixed with sweet winter fruit flavors…
And topped with edible gold glitter.

And you have choices, too.

More specifically, you can get it either by the glass or the pitcher.
(Cracker Barrel has a long history of offering alcoholic drinks at the holidays – I certainly need one to deal with my in-laws.)
And if you want the non-alcoholic version, you can get their sugar plum tea.
Which sounds gross, but I’ll try it just once.
