I’m talking, of course, about chicken and waffles.
If you’ve had it, you know how amazing it is. That amazing combination of sweet (from the syrup), crunchy (the chicken) and soft (the pancakes).
And if you’ve only heard of it…well, get ready.
Because, for the first time since 2019 – KFC is offering chicken and waffles nationwide.
(And about time! I’m tired of them just taking away beloved dishes. It’s time to bring some back!)

KFC’s adoption of chicken and waffles is pretty straightforward.
They introduced the combo after testing in 2018, then brought them back in 2019 after a ton of fans begged for its return.
Since then…crickets.
(In all fairness, a lot of oxygen was sucked up by advocacy for another KFC fan favorite which returned briefly earlier this year.)
But now – and just in time for Mother’s Day, which I’m 100% sure is not a coincidence – chicken and waffles are back!

Not surprisingly, KFC is offering a number of ways to get your chicken and waffle fix.
The first big decision you need to make is – is this a meal for one person, or many?
If many – you’ll want the fan favorites box ($25), which is pretty stacked:
– Four pieces of KFC fried chicken
– 12 chicken nuggets
– Fries
– Four waffles
– Up to four syrups and dipping sauces

Syrup is syrup, but for the dipping sauces you’ve got some choices to make:
– Gravy (yes, you can dunk your chicken in gravy)
– Comeback sauce
– Sticky chicky sweet ‘n sour sauce
– Buffalo ranch
– KFC sauce
– Honey mustard
– Honey bbq
– Ranch

And if you’re looking for a meal for just one person, you’ve got a number of options:
– 3 pc chicken and waffles combo (+ syrup, fries, and a drink)
– 2 pc chicken and waffles combo (same)
– 4 pc tenders and waffles combo (same)
– 3 pc tenders and waffles combo (same)
– 3 pc tenders and waffles box (no sides or drink)
– 2 pc chicken and waffles box (no sides or drink)
But wait, there’s more…

If you don’t like french fries (?) or are just craving something else, you can also swap out your side. The other options:
– Mac & cheese
– Mashed potatoes and gravy

I don’t know how long chicken and waffles are going to be available at KFC, but if you haven’t been in a while…now seems like a really good time to give them a try.
After all, there’s no telling how long this truly iconic combination will still be around.

…KFC also has a new dessert – their strawberry creme pie poppers.
(They’ve been doing this whole “popper” thing for a while. It mostly seems to be going well for them.)
They look kind of like mini kolaches (at least to me), and you can get them in packs of four or 10.
The filling is just “ok” in my book, so personally I’d just get an extra helping of chicken and waffles.
But to each their own!
