The hits just keep coming for American farmers.
As if the tariffs weren’t already disruptive enough…
As bankruptcies and closures rapidly spike…
The Trump administration has decided to also cut two big farm support programs, to the tune of $11.7 million in lost funding for Florida farms for one and $4.4 million for the other. (That’s $16.1 million in total lost funds for Florida farmers from these programs.)

These programs, the Local Food Purchase Assistance Cooperative Agreement Program and the Local Food for Schools and Child Care Cooperative Agreement Program, were designed to help match up poor children with fresh farm-produced food.
The Trump administration canceled them earlier this year, in what seems like direct contravention of the “Make America Healthy Again” agenda.
And unfortunately – farmers are paying the price, yet again.
But what do you think? Smart to end these programs quickly, or should the administration have invested more money (or at least retained current funding) for healthy, fresh food? Share a comment and let us know!
