Everything You Need to Know About Mango Butter
When one thinks of mango butter, the first thing that may come to mind is a sweet, mango flavored spread for mac nut muffins. But this mango butter is made with coconut oil and vitamin E to create a luscious body cream. Homemade Mango Body Butter has the ability to hydrate, plump, and protect the skin.
Mango butter comes in different forms, such as in tubs or bricks, and is derived from mango seed kernels. The seeds are roasted and pressed to release oils that are then processed into a firm butter. Mango seeds are high in antioxidants and vitamins, such as vitamins A, C, and E. This blend nourishes the skin, relieving redness while also providing moisturizing and plumping power.
Mango body butter is amazing – try it just once, and you’ll be hooked – and it’s usually very expensive to buy. That’s why I developed this homemade recipe – to save money and time. Self-care shouldn’t be expensive – and now it doesn’t have to be!
Ingredients for Homemade Mango Body Butter
Coconut Oil – Coconut oil is developed from a creamy blend of coconut ‘meat’ which is full of antioxidants and antibacterial properties. When combined with mango butter, it whips into a lush lotion. The best kind of coconut oil is virgin or unrefined as it has the highest amount of beneficial nutrients.
Mango Butter – Mango butter is extracted from the mango seed and provides great hydrating and skin-smoothing advantages when used daily. It helps reduce the look of wrinkles and can quickly calm irritation. It is an excellent substitute for other butters, such as shea or cocoa, providing similar – if not better – beautifying abilities.
Vitamin E Oil – Vitamin E oil is highly regarded as an anti-aging serum. It helps the skin look firmer, eases fine lines, and protects from free radicals.
Essential Oils (optional) – Essential oils have aromatherapy effects, such as calming or uplifting, and pair well with the homemade mango body butter. They offer a natural scent rather than using a synthetic fragrance oil, which keeps the recipe free from artificial ingredients.
