As if New York needed any more bad news.
With manufacturing jobs fleeing the state en masse…
And tariffs taking a bite out of farmers nationwide…
Now the Trump administration is pouring gasoline on the fire.

More specifically, the US Department of Agriculture recently closed down the Local Food Purchase Assistance Cooperative Agreement Program (LFPA for short), which had $30.2 million still to spend to support New York farms.
More specifically, this program and its sister program, Local Food for Schools (LFS, also shut down) helped low-income kids get access to fresh food from farms.
Seems pretty reasonable – especially given the MAHA agenda – but now those programs are gone, and New York farmers are suffering the consequences.
What do you think – should the government be supporting children’s nutrition and access to fresh food? Share a comment and let us know!
