If you were to name one fruit that tastes like summer, you’ll likely have peaches come to mind!
Those delicious, juicy, and sweet fruits boast an amazing and powerful flavor that is fresh and really boosts many different dishes when paired together. Now, what if you can’t get your hands on actual peaches or don’t live in an area where you can grow them? Well, peach extract is the perfect alternative!
Peach extract is one of the most convenient ways of adding the delicious peach flavor to anything you want, and is also great if you don’t want to change the texture of a dish with real peaches. But not all peach extracts are worthy of your time and money – which is why we made this list ranking our favorite ones!

We’ve tested a bunch of them, and found some amazing ones that we’re sure you’ll love – let’s check them out!
What is peach extract?
Peach extract is a liquid that contains a very concentrated form of peach flavor. It’s generally made by taking peeled peaches and placing them in alcohol (commonly unflavored vodka). This is then left in a cool, dark place for a couple of weeks, allowing the alcohol to pull out the delicious and juicy flavors of the peach.
Once it’s been in there long enough, the mixture is strained, leaving us with peach extract!
It’s different from something like peach syrup, as peach syrup tends to be sweeter and has a thick/syrupy texture. Peach extract is also better suited towards baking, while peach syrup is generally geared towards mixing beverages or pouring over top of pancakes and ice cream!
How to use peach extract in recipes
Peach extract is a wonderful way of adding the peach flavor into your dishes, especially bakes. It gives a breath of fresh air into whatever you pair it with, providing sweet and fruity tones!
Despite excelling in bakes, you can definitely use it in beverages. Adding a couple of drops to something like your coffee or tea will add notes of fruity peach, potentially creating some delicious twists! You can also mix it into your smoothies, oatmeal, water, yogurt, and ice cream!
Silver Cloud Flavors, which is a brand we’ll talk more about later, recommends starting with 1 teaspoon of peach extract to flavor most standard baking recipes. You can experiment with it a little, but I recommend adding less if you’re just trying to enhance the peach flavor in a recipe that uses real peaches.
For drinks, start with just a few drops, but add more or less as desired – remember, a little goes a long way here!
3 great recipes to use your peach extract
Give more life to these recipes with your peach extract:
- Coconut cloud smoothie: This smoothie is as delicious as it looks cool! It boasts some fruity flavors already, including pineapple, but you can bump that up by adding ½ a teaspoon or so of peach extract!
- Banana coconut ice cream: Ice cream is one of my all-time favorite desserts, and this banana/coconut one is amazing! Try adding ½ a teaspoon or so of peach extract into the mix when making it, which will add a nice twist of juicy flavor to an already great recipe!
- Crustless no-bake cheesecake: This is a bit of an interesting one, but adding a hint of peach flavor to this cheesecake will give a more fruity vibe and pair well with the sweet vanilla extract in it. I recommend just hinting at the peach flavor here, so don’t add a lot of extract!
How to choose the best peach extract
The best peach extract requires the best research – which we’ve already done for you! Plus, here’s the list of criteria we use to help us make the best choices:
- Ingredients: Peach extracts need to be made with natural ingredients, otherwise they taste fake – and who wants that?
- Consumer feedback: We don’t just rely on our own taste-buds, but also explore what other people have said about each product!
- Track record: A brand directly reflects their priorities in their products, so we make sure that each brand is transparent, honest, uses the best ingredients, and treats their customers right!
- Price: We’ve included a range of different prices so that there’s something for everyone’s budget!
With all that said and done, let’s jump into the rankings!
#1 Best Overall: Silver Cloud Flavors
The best peach extract is from Silver Cloud Flavors (AKA Apex Flavors)!
We’ve been more impressed with these guys as of late, and they’ve really impressed us with their peach extract! It boasts a delicious peach flavor that’s fruity and sweet, and works wonders in both bakes and beverages! It’s the highest rated on this list, boasting a 4.6 out of 5 stars in their kosher peach extract!
It’s not quite the most expensive on this list, coming in at $3.48 per fluid ounce – and that’s worth every cent for the deliciousness you get here!
Ingredients: Propylene glycol, ethyl alcohol and natural flavor.
#2 Runner-Up: Happy Home
At number 2 we have the peach extract from Happy Home!
First of all, this stuff is really good, and has the most reviews out of all peach extracts on this list – people like it! It’s also the most budget-friendly, coming in at $2.50 per fluid ounce. That said, this isn’t technically an extract because there’s no alcohol in it…
That makes this more of a flavoring agent – but it’s still natural! Usually these types of things have artificial ingredients in them, but Happy Home has done a great job at making a non-alcoholic peach “extract” here. Just be aware that it might react differently in bakes than other traditional extracts do.
Ingredients: Natural Flavors, Water, Propylene Glycol.
#3 Best Non-GMO: Bakto Flavors
If you need a non-GMO peach extract, Bakto Flavors has the best one!
It’s also gluten-free, and tastes great! It’ll add a punch of peach flavor into whatever you add it to, and makes your bakes pop with the sweet fruitiness! However, it’s the most expensive on this list at $3.50 per fluid ounce – but you get to support a small business with it!
Check this one out!
Ingredients: Natural grain alcohol, water, natural citric acid, and natural flavors.
#4 Honorable Mention: OliveNation
Last but not least, OliveNation gets an honorable mention for their solid peach extract!
OliveNation consistently makes great flavoring products, and they’ve done another great job with their peach extract – except it’s not quite as good as some of these others…
It’s not bad by any means, and it’s kosher, but it doesn’t do anything special that a lot of their other products do, and therefore isn’t at the top spot today – which is unusual for them! This peach extract comes in at a great price of $2.65 per fluid ounce, so it’s a fairly safe option and will definitely get the job done!
Ingredients: Water, Alcohol, Natural Flavors and Ascorbic Acid.
Others we reviewed
With all the peach extracts we tested, Dolce Foglia is one that didn’t make the cut. They tend to be hit-or-miss with their flavoring products, and we like quite a few of them. However, their peach extract uses artificial flavors, which isn’t something we like or support – we don’t feel the need to settle for fake stuff!
That said, try out the ones in the rankings above – we’re sure you’ll find a peach extract that meets your needs!
