For as many high-calorie creations that Starbucks notoriously serves up, there are just about as many beverage options that can keep your daily coffee to a minimum in terms of calorie intake.
If you’re looking for a low-cal start to your day, we’ve gathered all the drinks on the current Starbucks menu – including the many customization options – that will come in at 100 calories or less.

Low-calorie hot drinks at Starbucks
Coffee and tea themselves are naturally very low in calories, which means you have plenty of low-calorie choices at a coffee chain like Starbucks. Sticking to classics like black coffee, hot tea, espresso, or an Americano will guarantee your drink is virtually calorie-free.
It isn’t until you start adding other ingredients into the coffee or tea base – various types of milk or cream, sugars and sweeteners, tasty toppings – that the calories begin to add up. That said, there are curated beverages at Starbucks that contain some of these add-ins, like a cappuccino, a tea latte, or an espresso macchiato, which you can still order for a low-calorie treat.
But as long as you choose certain customizations, you can have even more fun with your Starbucks drink while keeping it low in calories; it’s just a matter of knowing which milks, flavored syrups, and other add-ins won’t make a huge dent in the calorie count.
The trick to low-calorie drinks at Starbucks also lies in the cup size. Obviously the smaller the drink, the fewer the calories, so your best bet is to stick with a tall size (which is a 12-ounce cup). Since Starbucks creations tend to rack up the calories quickly, many of the drinks on the menu will exceed 100 calories in a size grande or larger. For the purposes of widening your options and being able to compare beverages, we’ve included the calorie count based on a tall size for all drinks listed. But a good thing to keep in mind is that for many hot drinks at Starbucks, you can order the drink in a short size (8 ounces) for fewer overall calories.
For all drinks listed below that contain milk, the calories are in reference to the drink when it’s made with 2% milk (which is the standard option for all beverages at Starbucks unless otherwise stated). But remember that you can always customize your drink to include a lower-calorie milk or sweetener to decrease the calories even more.
(We’ll get to more of this later – if you keep scrolling we’ve also included the additional customization options available at Starbucks along with how many calories each selection would add to your drink, so that you know the best choices if you want to change up your order with custom ingredients).
Below are the hot drinks available on the Starbucks menu that you can order (as is) for 100 calories or less.

Just like the hot drinks, iced versions of beverages like coffee, tea, cold brew and nitro cold brew, Americanos, and espresso all fall under 10 calories, and in some cases no calories at all.
But aside from the basics, Starbucks offers a plethora of more interesting flavors and concoctions that are low in calories, from Sweet Cream Cold Brews and Shaken Espressos to Starbucks Refreshers and flavored lemonades.

Calories for customizations at Starbucks
A pro tip: you can order your drink “skinny” at Starbucks to automatically sub in nonfat milk, sugar-free syrup, and remove any whipped cream. Ordering your drink “light” will generally mean the same thing, but usually in reference to Frappuccinos.
Remember that many Starbucks drinks come sweetened, so you can always shave off a pump or two (or four) of syrup from orders like iced coffee or shaken espresso. A good substitute, if you still want that added sweetness, is stevia – which is a zero-calorie sweetener.
As a general rule, removing any unnecessary sweeteners, syrups, or whipped cream – or replacing them with a lower-calorie customization option – is often an impactful way to decrease the calories in your Starbucks order.
As promised, below is a list of standard customizations available at Starbucks that you can use to modify most drink orders. You’ll see the calories each item will add to your drink, based on the specific quantity added.

| Whole Milk | 19 per oz |
| Cold Foam | 25 (for size tall) |
| Sweetened Whipped Cream | 60 for tall hot drink 80 for tall cold drink |
| Vanilla Sweet Cream | 65 per splash |
| Heavy Cream | 102 per oz |
| Oleato Golden Foam | 200 or more |
| TOPPINGS + SAUCES | |
| Sprinkles | 4 |
| Chocolate Topping | 6 |
| Mocha Drizzle | 10 |

Aside from hot or iced tea which is zero calories, you can order black coffee (either hot brew, iced, or cold brew) for just 5 calories or less. Some other low-calorie Starbucks orders are a Caffè Americano for 15 calories, or up to four shots of espresso for 20 calories or less.
It depends which flavor syrups you order – most, if not all, of Starbucks flavored syrup (like vanilla, brown sugar, hazelnut, peppermint, etc.) are around 20 calories per pump. However, Starbucks also offers several sugar-free syrups in similar flavors that are zero-calorie sweeteners.
When you order any Starbucks drink as a skinny drink, the milk will be replaced with nonfat milk. Also, if the drink comes with any syrups they’ll be replaced with sugar-free, and if it comes with whipped cream it’ll be removed.
