- Coconut Milk – I used a light coconut milk for this drink. You can also use any milk of choice like whole milk, oat milk, almond milk, etc.
- Tea – Green tea bag, black, or even Jasmine tea all works for this taro boba tea. Just use whatever tea you prefer.
- Taro Root Powder – You will want to use real taro root, which will give this taro boba milk tea a gorgeous purple hue. This purple sweet potato powder is such a gorgeous addition to the tea.
- Sweetener – You can use classic sugar or a sweetener of your choice. And feel free to add extra sugar to sweeten the drink to fit your preference.
- Boba Pearls – So I used the chewy tapioca pearls for this. Now they are a chewy boba pearls, and if you want you can buy popping boba which going to pop really easy. Just buy a flavor that will compliment the tea.

How to Make Taro Milk Tea

Step 1: Bring your milk to a boil in a small saucepan on the stove over medium heat. Once it boils remove from the heat.

Step 2: Add in the tea bag of choice and steep for 10 minutes. I used blackberry sage tea, which is amazing!
Step 3: While the tea is cooling you will prep your tapioca pearls as directed on the back of the package.
Step 4: Pour the milk tea into a blender along with the taro powder. Blend the taro tea for around 2 minutes. You want the taro to mix in with the tea.
Step 5: Add the pearls to the bottom of a cup, and then pour the tea over and then sip and enjoy.

Ingredients
- 1 cup lite coconut milk or milk of choice
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 bag green tea, black tea or jasmine tea
- 2 tbs taro root powder
- 2 tbs sweetener
- 1/4 cup boba tapioca pearls
Instructions
- Bring milk and water to a boil in a small saucepan. Remove from the heat and add the tea bag and steep for 10 minutes.
- Remove the tea bag and chill the milk in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes.
- Prepare the boba pearls per package instructions while the milk tea is chilling.
- Pour the milk tea into a blender with the taro root powder and sweetener and blend until the taro powder dissolves, 1-2 minutes.
- Assemble the drink by adding 1/4 cup cooked boba pearls into a cup. Pour the milk tea over the pearls and add ice if deserved. Serve and enjoy!
