October 30, 2024 | Leave a CommentThe #1 Halloween Candy Kids ACTUALLY Want Intro Sometimes all you have to do is ask. The folks at Field Agent did this by asking over 1,000 kids. We waded through the data, and here are the top chocolates and candies kids actually want for Halloween. On to the results… Shutterstock #10 Jolly Ranchers Manufacturer: The Hershey Company We start with the only hard candy on the list. Did you know that the original three were apple, watermelon, and fire stix? We’re glad they expanded well beyond those first three! Shutterstock #9 Sour Patch Kids Manufacturer: Mondelez International Originally billed as “Mars Men,” Sour Patch Kids are this adult’s favorite non-chocolate candy … and their sour and sweet combo is pretty darn popular with children, too! Shutterstock #8 Starburst Manufacturer: Mars This chewy, fruit-flavored taffy is billed as “unexplainably juicy” in ads. We’d say that’s fair! Shutterstock #7 Twix Manufacturer: Mars Finally, a chocolate bar … don’t worry chocolate fans, there’s plenty more to come! Shutterstock #6 Skittles Manufacturer: Mars Skittles grabs the title as the #1 non-chocolate candy. Taste the rainbow! Shutterstock #5 M&M’s Manufacturer: Mars Start the debate now … peanut or plain? For me, it’s the green peanut M&Ms and everything else! In any case, Reese’s Pieces didn’t make the top 10. Shutterstock #4 Snickers Manufacturer: Mars My personal favorite candy bar, Snickers has those peanuts to balance out the sugary stuff. Maybe that’s why it makes the list, but its cousins Milky Way and 3 Musketeers didn’t! Shutterstock #3 Kit Kats Manufacturer: Hershey/Nestle Depending on which version you get in your Halloween bag, you may or may not be able to “gimme a break,” but Kit Kats are delicious no matter the form factor! Shutterstock #2 Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups Manufacturer: Hershey YUM! Chocolate and peanut truly is a brilliant combination … enough said! Shutterstock #1 Hershey’s Bar Manufacturer: Hershey (duh!) The “Great American Chocolate Bar” and s’mores king tops the list. But read on for one more slide, because there’s an asterisk… Shutterstock The Last Word Chocolate is clearly the secret ingredient for kids since it’s in every one of the top 5 candies. Here’s that asterisk I talked about earlier. The Hershey’s bar won when kids were asked to name the candy they wanted for Halloween, but when they were given a list, it came in fourth, behind Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Kit Kats, and M&M’s. If you’re wondering if the same thing happened with the non-chocolate candies, it did! Sour Patch Kids barely beat out Skittles for the top spot there. No matter how you parse the data, I can guarantee you one thing … kids prefer full size to fun size … happy Halloween!
