Intro

Origins was one of the first skincare brands I ever used.
Back then, their whole “natural skincare” vibe — plant extracts, earthy packaging, spa-like scents… it felt like a revelation.
But as I learned more about skincare, I realized the truth: some of the ingredients aren’t the cleanest, the formulas can be hit or miss, and those added fragrances? Not great for sensitive skin.
Oh, and let’s not forget – Origins is pretty overpriced.
The good news is that there are better options out there!
Here are five clean alternatives to Origins…

Youth To The People

Origins loves botanical extracts… but Youth To The People takes it up a notch with antioxidant-packed superfoods like kale, spinach, and green tea.
My two favorite products are their Superfood Cleanser and Hydrate + Glow Sleep Mask.
Plus, if you love Origins for their sustainability efforts, you’ll love Youth to the People, with their clean, vegan formulas and recycled packing materials.

Biossance

If Origins’ moisturizers left you wanting more, try Biossance.
This brand uses squalane (a skin-identical hydrator) derived from fermented sugarcane, so it’s ultra-moisturizing.
Everything is clean and developed with biotech, so it’s also sustainable and you get real results without questionable ingredients.

Herbivore Botanicals

Herbivore keeps it simple and clean.
Their formulas are short, sweet, and full of effective botanicals.
If you loved Origins for its natural vibe but want something more transparent and modern, Herbivore is your brand.

Eminence Organics

Origins gave “plant-based” a name, but Eminence Organics walks the walk.
This Hungarian brand has been doing organic, small-batch skincare for decades — long before “clean beauty” was trending.
Their Stone Crop Gel Wash and Strawberry Rhubarb Hyaluronic Serum are favorites for a reason: they truly feel like a luxury spa treatment (which is exactly why this brand is often sold and used in spas).

Cocokind

Clean beauty doesn’t have to cost a fortune.
Cocokind proves it with transparent formulas, skin-loving ingredients like ceramides and sea grape caviar (yes, really), and a totally no-BS approach.
If Origins ever felt too perfume-y or overpriced, Cocokind is the antidote.
