Starbucks has been serving up freshly roasted coffee since the ‘70s, quickly growing from a small shop at Pike’s Place in Seattle to one of America’s – and the world’s – most prominent coffee chains.
Today, millions of people have made Starbucks a part of their daily routine, whether it’s their first stop of the day for that highly caffeinated cup of morning brew, their go-to spot for an afternoon pick-me-up, or their trusty destination on that weekly Saturday morning walk.
Many of those people like to keep their daily coffee low in calories – if you’re one of them, the Starbucks menu has plenty of options to choose from that won’t break the calorie bank. Want to explore all of the drinks on the current Starbucks menu that come in under 100 calories? Here’s the skinny.
Starbucks hot drinks under 100 calories
Black coffee is a very low-calorie beverage on its own (and tea is a zero-calorie one), so there’s some wiggle room to add a little something extra to your Starbucks drinks and keep them under 100 calories. From hot brewed coffee to cappuccinos and tea lattes, there are definitely some solid low-calorie options on the menu.
Where you may be limited is the Starbucks cup size you order – so we’ve indicated the largest possible size available in each drink that keeps the calorie count under 100. That way, you know how big you can go within that range, and if you order a smaller size you’ll only save on calories (and dollars).
Another thing to keep in mind is that these calorie counts are based on the various orders as they are – so it’s the way Starbucks makes the drink, and doesn’t take into account any customizations (we’ll get to those later). Any drinks that contain milk are made with 2% milk unless otherwise specified.
Here’s the full list of every hot drink (coffees, teas, and non-caffeinated beverages) on the current Starbucks menu that comes in at or under 100 calories.

Starbucks cold drinks under 100 calories
There are even more options when it comes to Starbucks cold drinks. While you won’t find their decadent, sugary creations like Frappuccinos and Iced Macchiatos for under 100 calories, there are plenty of low-calorie orders to choose from – like cold brews, iced teas, and shaken espressos.
One thing to note is that some of Starbucks drinks come sweetened with one of their seven sugar and sweetener options, which is why you’ll notice their iced coffee comes in at 80 calories for a grande size. It would be closer to 5 or 10 calories if ordered black, but the four pumps of classic syrup that the drink is made with account for most of its caloric makeup.
Whether you want a refreshingly healthy treat or you just like to keep it light, here are all of the cold drinks you can order at Starbucks for 100 calories or less (in the largest possible size).

Pro tips for lower-calorie customizations at Starbucks
Starbucks is no stranger to drink customizations, so you always have the option to modify any order with specific substitutions that knock down the calorie count or add-ins that keep your drink within the range you’d like.
A good place to start if you want to decrease your drink’s overall calorie count: order your drink “skinny”. This will automatically sub in nonfat milk, sugar-free syrup, and remove any whipped cream. Ordering your drink “light” will generally mean the same thing, but usually in reference to Frappuccinos.
Since most milk-based Starbucks drinks are made with 2% milk – and there are other milk and alternative milk options that are less calories – a good rule of thumb is to substitute the milk in a drink for something lower-calorie to bring down the overall caloric intake. Starbucks milk options that have less calories than 2% milk are nonfat milk, coconut milk, and almond milk.
Removing any unnecessary sweeteners, syrups, or whipped cream is also key to a low-calorie customization. Remember that many Starbucks drinks come sweetened, so you can always shave off a pump or two (or four) of syrup from orders like iced coffee or shaken espresso, or simply replace them with Starbucks sugar-free syrups. Another good substitute is stevia, which is also a zero-calorie sweetener.
It’s also helpful to know what each delicious add-in amounts to, so you have a better idea of what you can play around with or what you’d prefer to stay away from. Adding a splash of milk (2%) to your drink will add around 25 calories, while adding a dollop of sweet whipped cream can cost you between 50 and 115 calories, depending on the size of the drink and whether it’s hot or cold.
Here’s a cheat sheet for popular Starbucks add-ins so you can customize accordingly.

Aside from hot or iced tea which is zero calories, you can order black coffee (either hot brew, iced, or cold brew) for just 5 calories or less. Some other low-calorie Starbucks orders are a Caffè Americano for 15 calories, or up to four shots of espresso for 20 calories or less.
When you order any Starbucks drink as a skinny drink, the milk will be replaced with nonfat milk. Also, if the drink comes with any syrups they’ll be replaced with sugar-free, and if it comes with whipped cream it’ll be removed.
It depends which flavor syrups you order – most, if not all, of Starbucks flavored syrup (like vanilla, brown sugar, hazelnut, peppermint, etc.) are around 20 calories per pump. However, Starbucks also offers several sugar-free syrups in similar flavors that are zero-calorie sweeteners.
