Flavorful, fruity, stunning, tart, tangy, and vibrant – rosehips create the perfect base for a warming cup of tea! And if you’re looking for an afternoon pick-me-up, I can’t recommend this cup of tea more!
For Christmas my husband bought my mother and myself a bunch of dried teas like hibiscus, lemongrass, rosehip, and lavender. So, what was our fairly routine “teatime,” on Saturday and Sunday afternoon, became – well – just a big old tea tasting party!
(Now, I just need to get my act together and make us scones and finger sandwiches so we can really do teatime right. But, I digress.)
And then when we’re really feeling like adding a boost of health to our luxurious afternoon hang out, we’ll add a little apple cider vinegar.
Because, what compliments the flavors of rosehips any better than tart apple cider?
Enjoy!
Ingredients and substitutions
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon dried rosehips
- 1 teaspoon organic honey
- ½ teaspoon apple cider vinegar
Where to find rosehips
You can find them online at large and small retailers if you can’t find them locally at a bulk food store. They’re worth seeking out!
Substitutions + diets
As written, this recipe is dairy-free and Paleo. To make it fully vegan, I’d recommend a little bit of maple syrup instead of the honey (or insert your other favorite vegan sweetener here).
This tea can be enjoyed chilled too! Just brew up a batch, let it cool to room temperature, and store in the refrigerator until ready to serve over ice!
