This at-home healthy white chocolate mocha recipe is made with organic cocoa butter, vanilla, cream, maple syrup and coconut milk powder!
I write about coffee often. I love my coconut oil coffee, pumpkin spice coffee and my cold brew coffee with homemade coconut milk creamer. I love it all!
Coffee is my go-to comfort drink. My husband and I make coffee together every morning. When it isn’t cold outside, we sit on the porch and drink coffee together. When it’s too cold to sit out, we hang out in our office together and drink our homemade coffee.
Every once in awhile we’ll stop at a coffee shop and order our favorite coffee drink, a White Chocolate Mocha! This drink is amazing but it’s way too sugary. That’s why I developed this homemade version. It’s lower in sugar, but still creamy and delicious!
Healthy white chocolate mocha ingredients + substitutions
For this healthy homemade version of Starbucks’ white chocolate mocha, you’ll need:
- 1 1/2 Cups Fresh Brewed Coffee
- .5 Ounces Cocoa Butter Wafers
- 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Bean Powder or ½ Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 Cup Coconut Cream
- 2 Tablespoons Maple Syrup (or natural sweetener of choice)*
- 1 Tablespoons Coconut Milk Powder (optional – adds creaminess)
Substitutions
This recipe is dairy-free, vegan, and paleo-friendly (use vanilla bean powder instead of vanilla extract).
How to make this recipe keto-friendly: Cut the carbs by going for a keto-friendly sweetener such as these sugar-free vanilla sweet drops. Make sure you use keto-friendly cocoa butter wafers.
Instead of cocoa butter wafers: Use Stevia sweetened white chocolate chips.
Instead of coconut cream: You can use coconut milk or regular organic cream.
Instead of maple syrup: Use a natural sweetener of choice, like honey or coconut sugar (sometimes I also add a dash of cinnamon)!
Instead of coconut milk powder: The coconut milk powder adds creaminess, but it’s optional. If you don’t have coconut milk powder, you can also use whole milk powder.
How to make a healthy white chocolate mocha (step-by-step instructions)

very nice recipe

I’m not fond of maple flavor (I know I know). You say we can sub out with any sweetener of choice, but how much dry sweetener would we need. And please don’t just say, to taste. I need an idea how much would an equivelant be (say an equivelant to sugar = not using sugar).
Oh boy, I just saw that this is an old recipe post, tho I just got a link to it in a new newsletter. I hope Tiffany or someone can help me.
Thanks, Billie

Hi Billie, yes, you can sub sugar with the maple syrup in this recipe. Maple syrup and sugar can be substituted equally, so 2 Tbs of sugar will work in this recipe.

where do you get cocoa butter wafer s? do you have a recipe to make them?
I appreciate having a healthy way to enjoy coffee.
Thank you,

I’ve ordered them from amazon and mountain rose herbs. I’ve also used stevia sweetened white chocolate chips and they work well in this recipe too!

Can this be made and stored for future use? (Sans coffee)? I’m wondering if I have one of those shaker water bottles, if I have all the ingredients without the coffee, if I buy some coffee at a coffee shop if I add the coffee to my shaker, I can enjoy a drink with a friend!
